The snoring is generally described as the loud sound that the person lets out during his/her sleep. The snoring is effected as the result of the soft palate and the uvula getting bigger than the normal or by sagging of them. These muscles block the breathing passage during the sleep by loosing their tension and result in the vibration of the uvula. However, all the problems with the nose and the vocal chords which narrow the upper air channel ( allergical cold, deformations in the nose bone, sinusitis, structural anomalities in the lower and the upper chin, having a tongue a lot larger than the normal) can result in snoring. The snoring of the children is mostly the indication of the nasal blocking or the tonsils. All the snorings are the indication of the narrowing down of the air passage. If the narrowing down is very serious, the air passage can be blocked completely. This can result in the stoppage of the breathing during the sleep.

1. Obesitate The overweightness results in the formation of fat in all the tissues. The tissues in the mounth and the throat are also included in this. Since the narrowing will take place on the air tube and the soft tissues around it, the snoring is unavoidable.

|
2. Alcohol Consumption The night time alcohol consumption can result in softening of the soft tissue at the back of the throat more than normal. This softening helps the tissue to vibrate more easily and hence to result in the snoring being often and strong.

3. Age The throat tissue softens especially for the males with the age and this increases the snoring. 4. Illnesses The illnesses like heavy angina, deviation on the nose, enlargement of the tongue, deviation of the lower chin, chronical bronchitises, allergies, chronical sinusitis and chronical rinit can result in the continuous snoring.

1. THE SNORING CAN CAUSE DEATH The snoring can be the indication of the breath stopping illness during the sleep. The high blood pressure is seen more in the people that snore excessively than the peoplr that do not snore. The most heavy type of snoring is “the blocking type”. In this illness which known as “Sleep Apnyses” the extreme snoring is interrupted with a period of breathlessness and the breathing is stopped. Happening of these being breathless attacks lasting for more than 10 seconds happening more than 7 times in an hour threathens the health in serious way. It is possible to see 30-300 times of blocking in an hour for the patients with apnyses. In this type of sleep the level of oxygen in the blood drops seriously. Therefore, the heart must pump the blood more than normal. While the rhytm of the heart becomes irregular for later times, the high blood pressure and the enlargement of the heart sets in within years.
2. SNORING TRIGGERS RELAXATION DEFICIENCY The people who have blocking type of snoring can enter into the deep sleep phase in very short period of their sleeping periods. |
|
The deep phase is the only way for relaxation. The day time after spending a night without relaxation is tiring and unproductive. Sleepiness are to be seen during driving or at work. The most dangerous of these is the problems that come across during driving in the traffic. These type of people can not drive a car for a long time without having sleep. At the top of the list of the traffic accident causes is the “sleeping while driving”.
3. SNORING CAN BECOME A SOCIAL PROBLEM The sound of snoring disturbs the people who you share your bed or room or even the same roof than yourself. According to a research, a snoring person causes his or her spouse to have reduction of one hour of slepp and leave the spouse sleepless. The people who share the bed with continuously snoring people have developped solutions like; to go to the earlier, to use ear plug, to use sleeping pills or to sleep in seperate rooms. The snoring threatens the family life seriously. It is made fun of the snoring person or is being blamed to be the responsible person for the sleepless nights.

When the Horkes is not used, the snoring is increased with the time and the following surgical intervention might be needed. - Removing of the soft palatal - removing of part of the soft palatal, uvula and tonsils |
|
- injection of an irritant material inside of the soft palatal to harden the palatal - placing of an mask on top of the nose to send air to the lungs which are used during the sleep - placing of an implant inside the soft palatal
